The IIFF International Istanbul Furniture Fair, one of the most important promotional platforms for the Turkish furniture sector globally, started on January 21st. The furniture, displayed in a total area of 250,000 square meters at the Istanbul Exhibition Center and TÜYAP Exhibition Center, will be available for visitors until January 25th.

The opening ceremony of the International Istanbul Furniture Fair began with a speech by MOSFED President Mr. Ahmet Güleç. Then, Turkey’s Minister of Trade, Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Istanbul Governor Mr. Davut Gül, TIM President Mr. Mustafa Gültepe, and ITO President Mr. Şekib Avdagiç emphasized the importance of the fair for the sector in their speeches.

Purchasing professionals, interior designers, and architects from 150 countries out of the 205 countries in the world are gathering at the IIFF Istanbul Furniture Fair. MOSDER President Davut Karaçak, in a statement made at the opening of the fair, said, “IIFF Istanbul Furniture Fair is one of the most important organizations in the history of Turkish exhibition. We are very excited for the fair because we are hosting visitors from all over the world. Therefore, we can say that this fair is the gateway for the Turkish Furniture sector to the world. With 45,000 manufacturers, nearly 3,000 brands, and their latest collections, the Turkish Furniture sector is represented here. We believe that IIFF will bring great vitality to our sector, and we invite everyone to this grand event.”

The lifeblood of our sector is exports…

MOSDER President Davut Karaçak continued his speech by emphasizing the importance of exports: “Our sector now stands out not only with its production capacity but also with its innovation power and design quality. The main goal of the Istanbul Furniture Fair, where we showcase all these strengths, is to increase Turkish furniture sector exports. Through the connections we will make at this fair, our exports will gain significant momentum. We expect that 3 billion dollars of the 5 billion dollar export target we set for 2025 will be achieved at this fair.”

“The contribution of IIFF to the brand value of Turkish Furniture is significant”

Davut Karaçak also addressed the importance of brand value, stating: “With the technology, production, investment power, knowledge, and experience we use in furniture production in Turkey, we are capable of competing with the world. The number of exporting companies is increasing every day. However, the emphasis on branding within the sector needs to grow. Brand awareness is crucial for the development of the sector and strengthening the perception of Turkish Furniture. As MOSDER, we continue our efforts in this regard. The IIFF Fair’s contribution to our sector in this sense is undeniable.”

IIFF 2025 has been established in all 26 halls of the Istanbul Exhibition Center and TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center. Modern- modular, bed- base, office-school furniture, and accessories are exhibited at the Istanbul Exhibition Center, while modern-modular furniture, luxury furniture, children’s and youth rooms, and garden furniture are displayed at the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center.
